Synergy-Working with others
The challenges we face in the Vicariate, as this website has demonstrated, often seem insurmountable. No doubt they would feel that way if we had to face this alone. We are not alone. Thanks to the good management of the Episcopal Vicariate of Human Promotion-Caritas there as always been synergy in implementing its methods.Synergy is worth mentioning. Synergy is when two or more entities work together in order to obtain a result that could not be achieved individually. These entities include people, hardware, software, services, policies, documents; all the things necessary to produce consistently. Noteworthy, is the result synergy gives us in our fight against poverty.
On this site you will find main examples of synergy between the Vicariate and other institutions-all working to achieve a goal that is part of the mission statement. For example:
All human beings need water to live. Lack of access to water is a major problem in El Salvador. Through the parishes of the Archdiocese of San Salvador and the Episcopal Vicariate of Human Promotion-Caritas, there is access to thousands of families without potable water. In addition, we have a connection with existing parishes and network of parishes that are in solidarity with the poor.
We work in collaboration with a German NGO, Miserior, which provides the Vicariate fund in order to train its parishes in water resources. Furthermore, the Vicariate may represent the communities in order to receive funds from other NGOS, such as FONAES. FONAES provides a rain-water capturing system. However, in this case, FONAES requires another organization, Food for the Poor. Food for the Poor, which is located in the United States, provides 25% of the project cost. Thus the local parishes, Food for the Poor, and FONAES are collected by the Episcopal Vicariate of Human Promotion-Caritas to provide water to hundreds of families
